Durg. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) decides to allow all its affiliated schools to conduct board examination of class 10th by themselves is getting popularity among the 220 schools of Chhattisgarh and now more and more number of school adopt this internal board exam pattern for the students of class 10th.
Only in three years of its introduction, the new pattern is accepted by most of the leading CBSE affiliated schools in twin cities (Durg-Bhilai); Raipur, Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon. Now only those students are appearing for board examinations of class 10th who intend to change their school after completing secondary class (class 10th) otherwise all other students only chose the new internal based pattern exam of CBSE.
In the current academic session 2013-14, out of 220 CBSE affiliated schools at the state, around 160 schools opted internal based examination for class 10th, a rise of 25% as compared to last academic session 2012-13 where 120 schools choose internal board exam.
Among the remaining 60 schools, in 30 schools over 60% students of class 10th selected internal exam over board examination. If this trend continues then next academic session will see more than 160 schools which will select internal based exam for class 10th completely.
