Raipur. Government Ayurvedic college sent a proposal to the Ministry of Health & Family Planning to start PG in two new subjects. The college is currently running PG course in five subjects.
The college management is trying to get approval from the Ministry after which the college will include two new subjects under PG i.e. Diagnosis and Pathology & fluid science. College officials are hoping to get the green signal from the Ministry as the teaching staff and other facilities required for those new subjects are available at college.
Normally, a college can run PG in 14 subjects but due to lack of proper facilities, only 5 subjects are available here for PG. But this won't happen with the two introductory subjects as the conditions as per Central Council of Indian Medicine for including those subjects are perfect at the college.
To give approval to any new subject, a team from Delhi visits the college for inspection. The team is expected to visit in the month of November or December.
To be noted here, state has one college in Raipur and two private colleges, each in Rajnandgaon and Durg for Ayurvedic studies.
